Who would have thought that two of tennis’ greatest players will end their careers in a space of few days? Such has been the void created by them. Earlier this month, Serena Williams played the last match of her decorated tennis career at the US Open. It was an emotional moment for her in front of her home crowd. Subsequently, Swiss maestro, Roger Federer took to social media to announce the end of his tennis career.

As soon as the news about Federer’s retirement broke out, fans across the globe sent in their reactions using social media platforms like Instagram and Twitter. Additionally, fellow players and renowned personalities also congratulated him on a wonderful career. Recently, American tennis legend, Chris Evert also reacted to Federer’s retirement.

Chris Evert lauds Roger Federer

The 67-year-old had kind words for Federer after his retirement announcement. She said, “I just want you to know that I appreciate how nice you were to my boys in the early years when you always came out of the locker room to say Hi to them. And I just want you to know that along with the beauty of your game, you went prospering most as you were such a great sport both on and off the court.”
