Hulk Hogan is the most renowned babyface in the history of professional wrestling. He led the top spot for a decade in Vince McMahon’s company.

However, before leg-dropping his opponents in the ring, Hogan wanted to pursue a career in music. Moreover, he also formed a band name Ruckus in 1976.

A few years back, Hulk Hogan sat for an interview with Vice. There he told about his pursuing a career in music in his younger days. Also, The Hulkster shed a light on joining Metallica and The Rolling Stones at that time.

Hogan was in the UK once for an award function. However, he heard a lady talking on the phone about needing a bass player. The Immortal One approached her and told her he knows how to play the bass.

Hogan said, “I was like “Look, I used to play bass. I know all the Rolling Stones songs. Tell Mick if you guys need a bass player for the Rolling Stones, I swear to god I could show up. I could rehearse one day and play everything they play. Please tell Mick, please tell Mick.” I got home, sent her all the merchandise—never heard a word back, right?”

The Hulkster further talked about trying to join Metallica. He said, “So then I heard that Metallica needed a bass player, and brother, I was writing letters, made a tape of myself playing and sent it to their management company. Kept making calls trying to get through. I tried for two weeks and never heard a word back from them either.”

Hogan was serious about pursuing a career in music. In the interview, he claimed to leave wrestling if he would have got a chance to play in The Rolling Stones or Metallica.

A few people commented on The Hulkster’s wish to play for top bands. Hogan says, “All the haters were like “You never auditioned for Metallica!” Of course I didn’t—but I tried!”
