During an interview, James talked about how he wanted to instill a winning mentality amongst his teammates. Talking about this, he said, “I’m obsessed with it, with win or bust. And what makes me have sleepless nights is when you don’t have everyone that feels the same way on your club.”
Further, he went on to add, “There’s times when I wished I was a tennis player, or a golfer when it was literally like, Look in the mirror, it’s you verse you.”
Apart from basketball, James has also dived into the business world. However, his recent collaboration with tennis star, Naomi Osaka to start a new media company has caused a stir. The controversy has been about the name of the firm, Hana Kuma.
While it means ‘flower bear’ in Japanese, it has an explicit meaning in Swahili, a native language in many African companies. The four-time Grand Slam champion has launched this company in partnership with The SpringHill Company, a media conglomerate created by James.
Matteo Berrettini issues apology after his controversial post on James
The 2021 Wimbledon finalist took to Instagram to issue an apology after fans misinterpreted his post about James. Berrettini said, “I am very sorry if my previous story post offended anyone. I was informed that it can easily be misinterpreted so I have deleted it. Lebron is my biggest idol. Incredible role model and inspiration.”
