Joe Rogan opened up about the reason he moved from California to Texas in 2020. The JRE host moved to The Golden State in 2003 when he bought a place for 2.3 million. After living almost two decades in Los Angeles, the longtime UFC commentator moved to Austin. The decision came as a surprise and many formed opinions about it. But Rogan has cleared the air about why he made the move.

In a conversation with Andrew Schulz, on JRE #1846, Rogan talked about him being a ‘bleeding heart liberal’ and not a ‘secret conservative‘. Besides, he discussed people accusing him of running to Texas to avoid taxes. The former Fear Factor host said, “I’m not a person who wants to keep all my money and not pay taxes.”

The 54-year-old disclosed the only reason for him moving to Austin. He offered, “I moved to Texas because I want f***ing freedom.”

The JRE host moved to a $14.4 million mansion with his entire family in 2020. The $200 million worth podcaster also set up a studio for his Spotify podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, inside his Austin villa.

Rogan also had to enforce additional armed security in his house after he faced constant backlash in the early phase of this year.
