Lindsey Vonn talks about body positivity

While promoting her book, Vonn appeared on the Stephen Colbert Show back in 2016. In the interview, Lindsey explained the title of her book and what exactly she means by strength. She said, “The image in society is changing. Being athletic and being confident in yourself is what makes someone beautiful. You don’t have to be model-thin to be beautiful.”

Her powerful message provoked a strong and supportive reaction from the audience. The book isn’t about becoming as thin as a supermodel so that we can feel beautiful. It’s about how Vonn herself learned to love her body, and so should we. It outlines healthy ways to lose weight and maintain a higher level of health.

It’s not about dieting. Vonn said it herself, “I hate the word diet.” Just make sure to drink your hot chocolate in the morning, not at night.
