Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal is one of the funniest persons in the league. Ever since his playing days, The Big Aristotle has been known as the goofiest person on his team. His charisma and his candor helped him in his playing career and now help him in his broadcasting career too. He has had many run-ins into humorous situations, but this recently resurfaced one might just take the cake.

According to this old article, Shaq once misunderstood his interview assignment. Maxim magazine once wanted Shaq for a big one-on-one interview. And Shaq readily agreed to it. But as it turned out, he had other things on his mind.

The NBA legend would eventually let it know that he agreed to the interview, thinking there would be one or two Maxim models present for the interview. He would eventually go through with it but insisted that it took place in an open place so people could see them talking.

Never since Wilt retired had NBA seen a physical specimen like Shaq. Coming out of LSU, he was seen as a generational prospect. Orlando Magic selected him first overall in the 1992 NBA Draft. Orlando was an expansion franchise and Shaq immediately put them on the league’s notice.
