After a disappointing Woman’s Open this year, American golfer Nelly Korda has unapologetically reacted to her performance on social media.

What position did Nelly Korda finish at the Woman’s Open

After a string of good performances, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Gold medalist fell off, finishing tied at 41st along with fellow American Marina Alex and South Korean Na Rin An. After securing a T8 finish at both the Amundi Evian Championship and the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational, her exploits weren’t enough to follow the progress she had made at the Muirfield.

“Muirfield Kicked My A**. I’ve always loved a good humbling experience & links golf does that to you often. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to play at such an amazing venue. Time to grind,” she mentioned in her latest Instagram post.

The course at Muirfield is among the most difficult challenges in all of championship golf. Among all the other things, it is a traditional links course. For a non-European, the links course provides a unique challenge considering their anomaly, especially in America.

It is said that golfers are forced to work with the natural elements of a link course, something which isn’t a concern in a golf course.

What happened at the 2022 Woman’s Open?

In dramatic circumstances, South African golfer Ashleigh Buhai won the 2022 British Open, ahead of South Korean golfer In Gee Chun. After securing a monumental lead of 5 strokes en route to her score of 64 in the third round, Buhai lost ground on Sunday while In Gee Chun tied her for T1 to force the issue for a playoff round. The sudden-death playoff was held over the 18th hole, and it wasn’t till the fourth try that we had a winner. Buhai held her nerve for a par as she won her first major title, which is incidentally her first LPGA Tour victory as well.
