Chase Elliott’s season with the Next-Gen cars has been nothing short of being wonderful. However, the Dawsonville native is not happy with the consistency surrounding the latest generation of vehicles and recently mentioned how he would like to work towards it in his quest to fight for his 2nd Cup Series Championship.

During the interview, Elliott stated, “I would love to add to it right. I mean that’s the goal every year for all of us to go out there and achieve that ultimate prize. We set out to do that every season. That’s what we start our year, in hopes of earning. So it’s a grind, it’s a fight, it certainly doesn’t get any easier you know, there’s always new challenges and especially this year with…”

“I mean I shouldn’t say especially this year because I feel like it’s tough every year, just to get there and have a shot. But a lot of new challenges this year and I don’t think anyone’s been immune to inconsistency with this car throughout the season…”

“It doesn’t care who you are or what you’ve got going on, you could get humbled really fast. And then on the flip side, we have been fortunate enough to have some good weeks too. So would love to see that inconsistency improve some.”

“You know personally speaking, from our team side we wanna do better each and every week. Not be as hit or miss as we’ve been. I think that’s where our heads are right now just trying to make that a little better.”

He concluded by stating, “I think we are super capable, I feel like we just gotta get going at the right times, at some of these tracks. Look, we got some three really big weeks we got ahead, and you know some major opportunity out there hanging for the taking.”

Chase Elliott’s season so far- Mixed Bag

Elliott had a rather spectacular season all around, winning multiple races throughout. However, he did suffer a bit in the playoffs, especially at Charlotte Roval, weakening his chances for his second championship.
