The reporter had asked Serena Williams about her opinion about the Serbian player and his initiative. She was asked if there is a necessity for it or WTA and ATP are doing well enough.

“I would be really interested to learn more about what everything is about because I feel like I can’t really have an opinion unless I understand more deeply,” replied the American.

Former world no. 1 showed her allegiance to her fellow player. She said, “I’m obviously team Djokovic, but at the same time I have been on the WTA tour for 30 years and I know a lot of stuff that is happening there. I really can’t comment on that. I do feel like he has some very strong opinions that are often true. So, yeah, I would have to just wait.” 

Novak Djokovic’s initiative for the welfare of players

Novak Djokovic had worked towards forming an organisation called Professional Tennis Players Association. Its aim was to work towards the better treatment of the players.

It was an initiative where the player found that tennis organization like WTA and ATP have not been doing justice to the players.

More recently. He has lost his top ranking because of Wimbledon getting stripped off its ranking points. Additionally, he has fallen behind Daniil Medvedev and Alexander Zverev, who are world no. 1 and 2 respectively.
