It is worth noting that Nadal’s biggest two rivals on the tour were Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer; even they could not beat Nadal’s record that season. Moreover, the 31-year-old Spaniard beat Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer’s records as well.

In 2013, Pablo Carreno Busta rose to the limelight on the ATP tour. During that season, he won 92 matches on the tour, the most by any, and lost only 18 matches. Moreover, he beat 39 players in just 77 days, which was truly a remarkable achievement.

In that same year, Rafael Nadal won 75 matches on the tour. Whereas, Djokovic won 74 and Federer won 45 matches. Safe to say, Carreno Busta beat all three of them by a hefty margin, in terms of total wins in that particular season.

Interestingly, after his amazing season, he rose from 715 to 64 in the ATP rankings, which was his best ever ranking at that time. Moreover, he earned $182,192 in 2013 as prize money.

Right now, he is a world no.23 and achieved his career-high ranking back in 2017, climbing to the tenth position in the rankings. In terms of his ATP titles, he won 6 so far and earned $13,704,293 in his entire career.

Yesterday, the 31-year-old Spaniard won his semi-final match against Dan Evans at the Canadian Open to reach his first ever Masters 1000 final. Today, he will play the Polish no.1 Hubert Hurkacz in the final, which could be an exciting match.

Meanwhile, Carreno Busta did not have an easy route to the final, as he had to beat some of the top seeds, like Matteo Berrettini and Jannik Sinner, in the previous rounds. Despite that, he has been in tremendous form throughout the tournament, and is now looking to bag his maiden Masters 1000 title and the 7th title of his career.
