Real Madrid supporters in Paris have mocked Kylian Mbappe after his proposed move to the club failed to materialise.

Mbappe was heavily linked with a switch to Real but ended up staying at Paris Saint-Germain, where he has signed a new contract worth £650,000-a-week.

Real Madrid fans are in Paris ahead of the Champions League final against Liverpool and they took the opportunity to make their feelings clear about Mbappe.

One fan held up a sign which read: ‘Mbappe you will regret’.

In addition, another supporter had a shirt with ‘Mbappe 0 Champions League’ printed on the back.

As Real fans are eager to remind him, the 23-year-old has yet to win the Champions League. The closest he came to doing so was in the 2019-20 season, when PSG lost to Bayern Munich in the final.

Another fan wore a shirt which included Mbappe’s name and the middle finger.

Last year Real had several bids rejected for Mbappe, including one for £154million.

Mbappe’s new deal at PSG runs until 2025 and he hasn’t ruled out the possibility of joining Real thereafter.

As reported by BBC Sport, Mbappe said: ‘You never know what can happen in the future. I give up to think about the future, I only think about the present and the present is I signed a new contract for three years more at Paris Saint-Germain.’

Pressed on whether his dream of featuring for Real was over, Mbappe added: ‘Never over.’

The striker revealed that he informed Real president Florentino Perez personally of his desire to remain at PSG.

He said: ‘It was last week. I didn’t announce it to my team-mates because the club didn’t want me to. They wanted that to remain a secret and a surprise for everybody, even though it was hard to keep surprises.

‘I have a lot of respect for him and their club they have done a lot to make me as happy as possible. As a respectful person I owed to it to them to speak to them personally I though that was the best thing to do.

‘We managed to finalise the contract and announce the news at the Parc des Princes.’

Since joining PSG, initially on loan, in 2017, Mbappe has scored 171 goals in 217 appearances.

Mbappe has won the Ligue 1 title four times and the Coupe de France on three occasions.
