On Monday, the reason for the death of the former running back of the Dallas Cowboys, Marion Barber III, came to light. As per a statement of the police in the Dallas suburb of Frisco, the Collin County medical examiner had ruled Barber’s death an accident.
The cause of the death of Marion Barber III was said to be heatstroke. Barber III was just 38 years old, and it was a very unfortunate demise for an NFL veteran. During his NFL career, he had also played for the Chicago Bears.
Police found Marion Barber III dead on 1st June. He was present at a Frisco apartment that he was believed to have been leasing. The Dallas Cowboys had released a statement after the death of Barber III was announced.
The statement said, “We are heartbroken by the tragic death of Marion Barber III. Marion was an old-school, hard-nosed football player who ran with the will to win every down. He had a passion for the game and love for his coaches and teammates. Our hearts go out to Marion’s family and friends during this difficult time.”
A look back at the NFL career of Marion Barber III
Marion Barber III was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the fourth round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He spent six seasons of his career with the Dallas Cowboys.

In the next year, the Cowboys RB had a career-high 975 yards rushing and 10 touchdowns. He also made the only Pro Bowl appearance of his career during that season.
Marion Barber III left the Dallas Cowboys after the 2010 season. It was due to a less productive role that he was offered. Later on, he played the last season of his career with the Chicago Bears in 2011.
