Fresh out of Texas A&M, the youngster was the 27th overall pick in the 1st round of the NBA draft. Interestingly enough, after getting drafted, he missed his introductory conference call with the media because of oversleeping!

Furthermore, he missed his flight to Boston for the very same reason. This was surprisingly taken well by the Celtics fans on social media who made Williams a cult hero. He was given the name ‘Time Lord’ in a sarcastic tone thanks to his sleeping habits.

Robert Williams III started for the Boston Celtics against the Golden State Warriors in game 2 of the NBA finals despite having doubts regarding his fitness.

He had a disappointing outing as he recorded 2 points, 1 assist, and 2 rebounds to his name as the Celtics lost 107-88. Williams’ overall season stats stand at 10.0 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 2.0 assists for the 2021-22 season.
