Coming out of turn 14, Schumacher was right behind Zhou Guanyu in the Alfa Romeo. However, he lost the rear of his VF-22 and crashed. Unfortunately, this accident destroyed the barrier and his car, which split in two. Subsequently, the red flags were waved.

It must have been a frightening moment for the drivers who were behind Schumacher. Vettel, however, did not see it live and was informed that the Haas driver was doing well after some time.
