Coming out of turn 14, Schumacher was right behind Zhou Guanyu in the Alfa Romeo. However, he lost the rear of his VF-22 and crashed. Unfortunately, this accident destroyed the barrier and his car, which split in two. Subsequently, the red flags were waved.
