Playing golf with professional golfers is always a dream of a fan. And if the pro is the GOAT, Tiger Woods, it would become the icing on the cake. Although most golf fans would have a similar thought, the former President of America, Bill Clinton, and his staff at the time wouldn’t agree with the sentiment!

According to the excerpt of the book ‘Tiger Woods’ by Jeff Benedict and Armen Keteyian, Woods had agreed to play with Clinton. However, nothing went well as the golfer reportedly acted indifferently throughout the game.

From interrupting Clinton’s words to spending time on the phone during the entire tournament, the book says Woods did everything to annoy Clinton. Furthermore, he would also walk out from the green after making his putt, even when the others were putting. Notably, this action was considered “A major breach of golf etiquette.”

“He was really obnoxious,” one spectator said about Woods. “I’ve never seen the president more put off by a person than that experience,” he added.

What made Tiger Woods play golf with the former POTUS?

According to the book, the 15-time major champion and the former POTUS were far from friends. The book explains that his beef with Clinton began in 1997 when he refused to attend an event honoring the late Jackie Robinson.

Their rivalry continued in the Ryder Cup competition Woods was a part of. Reportedly, the player walked out of the locker room when Clinton went in. Moreover, he even refused to take a picture with the POTUS when the victorious Team USA visited the White House.
