The seven-time Super Bowl Champion Tom Brady is about to turn 45. And guess what, his attitude toward playing the sport is still like a 20-year-old who just made his debut in the NFL. As the training camps have already begun, teams are busy practicing for the pre-season games and attending press conferences on their respective sides.

For the Buccaneers, Tom Brady came forward to share his thoughts with the media. And the signal-caller still believes that only one team becomes happy after the season gets over.

While speaking at the press conference, Brady was asked about his frustrating loss to the reigning champions Los Angeles Rams last season and whether he thinks his MCL tear became a barrier to his Super Bowl run.

The quarterback responded immaculately and said that he doesn’t like to make excuses. “I don’t think there’s any excuse. You know, you either get the job done and you don’t,” he said.

“You know, there’s only one team that’s really happy at the end of the year. The team that wins, so you got to come out the next year, and you gotta put yourself in the position.” Brady explained at the press conference.

Back in 2019, the Buccaneers QB tore his MCL on the left knee just weeks after clinching his fifth Super Bowl MVP, beating the Chiefs with a record score of 31-9.

It was Brady’s last season with the Patriots before signing a deal with his new home at Tampa Bay. Eventually, he underwent surgery after 12 years of his previous injury and went on to play for the Buccaneers.

However, problems didn’t stop over there, his condition worsened, and the injury became more serious. But the veteran did not budge from his principles. He went on to play the entire 2020 season with a torn MCL and won his first Super Bowl ring for the Buccaneers.

Tom Brady had a great season despite his injury

While some players resort to rest till recovery and undergo thorough conditioning, Brady was uncomfortable resting inside the locker room. It shows how passionate Brady is when it comes to football. Not only did he win the Super Bowl, but also showcased a great play in 2020.

Brady played in all the 20 games and threw for 4,633 yards registering 40 touchdowns against 12 interceptions. He bolstered the offensive strength in the postseason games and added more than ten touchdowns to his tally, with three in his championship game.

This injury is not something Brady isn’t familiar with, and keeping him away from the field is a tough business. “Trying to stop him from playing is pretty tough.” former Buccaneers HC Bruce Arians said. Well, it will be interesting to see if he can add another feather to his camp by winning the eighth title to his name.
