Tom Brady will be playing under a new head coach this season. The former defensive coordinator of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Todd Bowles is now the new head coach of the team. Even before arriving to play for the Bucs, Brady was quite familiar with Bowles.

Todd Bowles was the head coach of the New York Jets from 2015 to 2018. Brady was playing for the Patriots back then. The New England Patriots and New York Jets are part of the same division. As a result, Brady faced Bowles multiple times through the years.

Talking about Bowles as the head coach of the Bucs, Brady said, “We have a great relationship, Obviously, I played against him for a long time too. He’s very detailed. Really tough, hard-nosed coach. A little bit of a throwback.”

He added, “You know, you coach in New York, that toughens you up a lot. You coach with BA for a long time, you coach with [Bill] Parcells, you get toughened up. I think he believes in a certain style of play, which is reflected in the way our defense performs.”

Soon after Tom Brady announced his return to football, the Bucs parted ways with Bruce Arians. As a result, Todd Bowles became the new head coach of the team. Certainly, Brady would have had his say on the appointment of Bowles as a head coach.

The goal for the franchise remains the same, that is to win another Super Bowl. Brady led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a Super Bowl win in just his first season with the franchise. He has a great opportunity to win another Super Bowl with the Bucs.

The NFC is wide open. Teams like the Packers and the 49ers aren’t as strong as they were last season. As a result, the Buccaneers have a good chance of progressing from the NFC. However, the defending champions Los Angeles Rams can certainly spoil their party once again.
