Baseball is more than just a bunch of guys playing in the ballparks. And Randy Arozarena is proof of this. In an ongoing series between the Tampa Bay Rays and St. Louis Cardinals, Arozarena’s heartwarming gesture has won the internet.

Despite playing some good baseball, the Rays are still second in their division. The reason? They are in the same division as the New York Yankees. It’s not that the Rays are not playing good baseball, but the Yankees are just having an exceptional season. And given the domination of the Yankees, it will be difficult for the Rays to make it to the playoffs.

Coming back to Randy Arozarena, apart from being a top-class outfielder, the Rays star is also a great human being. In a recent game against the Cardinals at Tropicana Field, Arozarena gifted a customized bat to a young Cardinals fan.

Randy Arozarena shines against his former team

Randy Arozarena is going through an exceptional phase in his career. After making his MLB debut for the St. Louis Cardinals in 2019, Arozarena moved to the Tampa Bay Rays in 2020. Since then, he has been playing for the AL East side.

Despite playing for the Rays, Arozarena still has a soft corner for his former team and fans. During an ongoing series, a young Cardinals fan gifted him a personalized baseball as a sweet gesture. The baseball was truly special for Arozarena, as it had a picture of him on it.

The Rays star liked it so much that he decided to gift his customized bat and a signed baseball to the young kid. The video of the same is doing rounds on the internet. And why not? It was a beautiful exchange between a fan and a player.

“I told him how much I liked it,” Arozarena said after the Rays’ 11-3 win over the Cardinals, “and so in exchange, I gave him a signed bat and another signed ball for it.”

In the name of the New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays, the Rays have strong competitors in the AL East. Currently, the Rays are having a decent season, with 33 wins out of 56 games. But the Yankees are far ahead of them. They have won 40 games in the same number of games as the Rays have played.

Only time will tell which team will be through to the MLB 2022 playoffs.
