Amir Khan has confirmed that he will be heading back into the jungle for the All Star series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

The former boxer, 35, who starred on the ITV hit show in 2017 and announced his retirement from boxing in May, said taking part in the series was ‘one of the best things’ he ever did.

Speaking to The Sun, he revealed: ‘I’ve been asked to do a very, very big show. I can’t give the name to you. But I’ll give you a clue; I’ve been on it before!’

He continued: ‘I enjoyed it. It’s one of the best things I ever did. Going in the jungle, being away from everyone, being focused, focusing on you and what you want to do in life.

‘The team I had around me was amazing, everyone was great and it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had – apart from seeing spiders and snakes and s***.’

Amir proved to be a favorite amongst the viewer’s as he screamed with fear at the sight of creepy crawlies and secretly ate all the strawberries instead of sharing with his campmates.

I’M A CELEB ALL STARS – WHO COULD BE IN LINE FOR A JUNGLE COMEBACK?

Danniella Westbrook

Former EastEnders actress lasted just nine days in the jungle in 2003 – could she be given a second bite of the cherry later this year?

Kerry Katona

Ex Atomic Kitten star won the 2004 series – a return to the jungle isn’t beyond the realms of possibility.

Janet Street-Porter

The outspoken Loose Women panellist enjoyed a 17 day stay before facing the axe in 2004. Her opinionated personality could cause friction in camp.

David Dickinson

The Bargain Hunt star had a right bobby dazzler during his 12 day stay in 2005. Could the perma-tanned presenter be in line for a return?

Myleene Klass

Her steamy shower scenes in 2006 have gone down in jungle history.  After 16-years away from the show a return to camp might not be out of the question.

Janice Dickinson

The fiery American model caused friction among campmates in 2007. Her sparky personality might just be what the new series needs.

Gemma Atkinson

The fitness mad former Hollyoaks star lasted an impressive  18 days in 2007 – might she get a second crack of the jungle whip?

Katie Hopkins

Loved by some, loathed by others, Katie was a predictably divisive presence on the show in 2007. A return would certainly raise a few eyebrows.

Joe Swash

The popular TV personality was named King of the Jungle in 2008. Might it be second time lucky in 2022?

Kim Woodburn

Another fiery character who ruffled plenty of tropical feathers back in 2009. Don’t rule out a return to the jungle for the How Clean Is Your House star.

Sam Fox

The former Page 3 girl finished in ninth place in 2009. Could she go one better this time around?

Britt Ekland

The seventies stunner was a hit with fans in  2010, managing 15 days in the jungle. Now the ripe old age of 79, is one more journey to the unknown out of the question?

A brand new all-stars version of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! is set to be filmed in South Africa, running in addition to the usual annual ITV programme.

And with 230 celebrities having competed across 20 series, MailOnline predicts which memorable contestants could try their luck again in the spin-off.

Viewers delighted in watching Gillian McKeith scream with terror as she faced trial after trial after trial, bringing back barely any food which led to rising tensions in the camp back in 2010.

But it was clear the stars were thrilled when Gillian was forced to pull out of the trial for ‘fainting,’ with Linford Christie taking her place and earning close to a full house.

It’s been disputed down the years whether Gillian’s faint was real, with Britt Ekland declaring: ‘She’s maybe as good of an actress as I am.’

The writer proved to be one of the series’ standout stars as she was exposed for smuggling condiments into camp using specially-made underwear.

I’m A Celebrity’s third instalment is thought by many to be the one that took it from popular reality show to ITV juggernaut, as it saw the birth of the one of the most iconic marriages in celebrity history.

Who could forget singer Peter Andre and glamour model Katie Price (known then as Jordan) falling in love in front of viewers’ eyes.

Despite being from polar opposite worlds, they went onto marry a year after leaving the show, before divorcing in 2009.

However, the former glamour model, 43, is said to have been deemed ‘not suitable for the family show’ amid her recent brushes with the law, with a source telling The Sun: ‘She is too much of a liability.’

It comes after Katie – who has appeared on the show in both 2004 and 2009 – previously expressed her interest in taking part as she ‘Yes, get me in!’ on her Instagram stories after learning of the new show.

The publication reports that while there’s little doubt that Katie would make ‘great TV’, her recent court cases and convictions mean bosses are reluctant to endorse her as the show has a younger audience.

A source said: ‘There is no doubt that Katie makes great TV and was one of the standouts on I’m A Celeb over the years, but she is too much of a liability for the show to cast her in the All-Stars version.’

They added: ‘Given her pending court case, as well as her existing convictions, the series can’t be seen to endorse her by inviting her back into the jungle.’

The new stand alone show will run in addition to the usual annual ITV programme – which is set to return to the Australian jungle this year after two years in Wales – and is likely to air next summer.

Channel bosses have signed up Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, both 46, to host the show and legendary contestants from the past will compete, taking part in trials while living in camp.

A source told MailOnline: ‘The team behind I’m A Celebrity are making a brand new spin off of the hit series featuring the most loved, favourite campmates from previous years.

‘The campmates will be doing trials and living in the camp environment, but with fresh and exciting new twists, and they will have a hand in their own destiny through a series of internal votes and challenges.

‘The new edition is likely to air in 2023 but before that viewers will get to enjoy the show’s much anticipated return to Australia in November.’
