‘The little that I know about Jared, is that he cares about what he does, body and soul, so much. And I’m the same way. So, to be able to connect like that over a shared passion, something that we both really love giving ourselves fully to – in a way that I get it, it’s unusual – it was really, really special.

‘I feel really lucky that he was my partner in this.’

She also spoke about adopting a raw vegan diet in order to get into her character. ‘I didn’t commit to it. I just found myself there in the end. She kinda took hold.’

Anne landed the March cover of WSJ. Magazine, where she opened up about her personal life – specifically, her fertility struggles and life as a mother to her two young sons.

She is mom to Jonathan, six, and Jack, two, with her husband of nine years Adam Shulman.

She admitted to the magazine that although she and Adam would like a third child, ‘getting pregnant is not always positive’.

‘I could see us going for another one,’ Anne confessed of her desire for another child but caveated the statement with the challenges around fertility and pregnancy, explaining:

‘There’s this tendency to portray getting pregnant, having kids, in one light, as if it’s all positive. But I know from my own experience, it’s so much more complicated than that.’

‘When you find out that your pain is shared by others, you just think, I just feel that’s helpful information to have, so I’m not isolated in my pain,’ she noted. ‘I mean, what is there to be ashamed of? This is grief, and that’s a part of life.’

Of her role as a mother, Anne gushed that she has never felt more true to herself, telling the magazine: ‘I didn’t feel fully landed and fully here until I was a mom. It’s not like I was lacking integrity, but it made me want to be completely, on every level, true to my word. And that meant stopping any nonsense that I had going on inside myself.’

And while she knew she wanted to be an actress by age three, Anne added she ‘would strongly discourage [my sons] from starting too young.’

‘I think that they’ll be in a position where they’ll be able to go to college and figure out where they want to go from there,’ the former child star said.

‘You have all the time in the world to be a professional actor; you can only be a child once. So I would encourage them to study, to go to classes, to read.’
