David Walliams ruffled a few feathers on Friday evening as he made an inappropriate joke during the Britain’s Got Talent semi-final.

And fans weren’t happy with the 50-year-old talent show judge, noting that he was being ‘inappropriate’ due to the family nature of the pre-watershed show.

The joke even seemingly left presenters Ant and Dec to squirm, as the pair ignored the comment and asked David about the acts.

Friday’s show opened with celebrations for the Platinum Jubilee, as judges Amanda Holden, Simon Cowell and Alesha Dixon were surrounded with tea, cakes and scones for the celebrations.

And during the opening of the show, David was left with a face of cream, claiming that Simon had shoved a cream scone in his face.

Ant and Dec questioned: ‘What on earth has happened already?’, to which David explained: ‘Simon has put a cream scone in my face’.

But interjecting, Simon claimed it wasn’t him, as he tried to pass the blame onto Alesha.

Offering a helping hand, Dec suggested: ‘Just dribble it down your chin’, to which David cheekily jested: ‘Not for the first time’.

While the comedian seemed pleased with his remark, Ant and Dec didn’t react, as they attempted to swiftly move on from the joke by asking what David was looking forward to this evening.

While Amanda leaned over to Simon’s chair, as the pair whispered between themselves.

And the joke didn’t get passed the talent show’s eagled eyed viewers either, who blasted David on social media.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer said that the comment was ‘wholly inappropriate at 8pm on British TV’, while another said it was ‘way too far’ for a family show.

Another tweeted: ‘Did David Walliams REALLY just say that? Jeeeeeez’
