Calvin Harris has reportedly split from his girlfriend Aarika Wolf after four years.

The DJ, 38, allegedly experienced strain in his relationship with the model, 27, due to his regular trips away from their US home to his Ibiza farm.

A source told The Sun of their ‘amicable’ separation: ‘Calvin wanted to spend more time away from the US, including on his farm in Ibiza, but Aarika is based in the States.

‘He has a busy year on the cards with lots of shows being booked which means he will be away on the road even more.

‘They discussed their future as a couple and decided now is a good time to call it a day. It’s really sad but they both know it is for the best.’

Representatives for Calvin and Aarika have been contacted for comment by MailOnline.

The duo – who haven’t been pictured in some time – first began dating in 2014, after meeting on the set of Calvin’s music video for his track Blame.

They enjoyed a seven-month romance, before splitting the following year, with reports emerging detailing their split in February 2015.

Their break up came after Calvin was claimed to have put on a flirty display with Taylor Swift at the Brit Awards earlier that month. He was then spotted with the Shake It Off singer just a month later in March.

At the time of his split with Aarika, reports claimed that Calvin had wanted to be ‘single’ and his break up with the fashionista had been ‘amicable’, despite their romance not working out.

They were both into each other for a long time but it just didn’t work out and they’ll stay friends.

‘Calvin is always really busy and is constantly travelling around to DJ gigs so he’s happy to be single for a while.’

The How Deep Is Your Love hit-maker then went onto date Taylor for 15 months, before the duo split acrimoniously in June 2016. Just weeks later, she was seen to be pursuing a new romance with actor Tom Hiddleston.

In the wake of their split, things appeared to turn sour between the duo and Calvin was seen hitting out at Taylor in a Twitter tirade, after her representative confirmed Taylor’s involvement in the writing of his track This Is What You Came For.

Despite initially complimenting his ex girlfriend on her ‘amazing’ song-writing ability, Calvin accused Taylor of trying to tear him down and said he refused to let her ‘bury’ him like her frenemy Katy Perry.

Calvin claimed Taylor had ‘made him look bad’, as he wrote: ‘Hurtful to me at this point that her and her team would go so far out of their way to try and make ME look bad at this stage though.

‘I figure if you’re happy in your new relationship you should focus on that instead of trying to tear your ex bf down for something to do.’

However, he later backtracked over his rant on the social media site and admitted it had been ‘completely the wrong instinct’ to react so publicly.

‘I was protecting what I see as my one talent in the world being belittled,’ he confessed to GQ magazine. ‘It felt like things were piling on top of me and that was when I snapped.’
