‘I was shocked Brendan Cole was my partner, I’m used to skating with younger men’
DANCING On Ice pro Vanessa Bauer admits she was shocked to be partnered with Brendan Cole – as he is 20 years older and she is used to skating with young men.
But the 25-year-old beauty need not have worried as the pair’s electric chemistry on ice has landed them in tonight’s final.
And they have formed such a close bond he has even invited the skate ace to stay at his family home in Majorca.
Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, Berlin-born Vanessa reveals that fiery former Strictly star Brendan met his match in her.
She said: “The producers really surprised me with the partnership because there is a 20-year age gap.
“I didn’t expect to be with Brendan when obviously there were young guys, like I was partnered with in previous years. I was worried at first that we wouldn’t bond, but because we’re both performers and I’m a mature 25-year-old, I’m comfortable.
“Brendan is like a kid at heart — it shows on the ice as well, as he throws himself at everything I’m showing him and he doesn’t hesitate to jump.
“He falls and gets up and it amazes me how his 45-year-old body can handle so much strain. He says all the time that he has toned up.”
