What is septicaemia?
Septicaemia is a serious bloodstream infection also known as blood poisoning – it is the name of the infection itself.
It occurs when a bacterial infection enters the blood stream – dangerous as it can then spread throughout the body.
It can start anywhere but the most common causes are from urinary tract, lung and kidney and stomach infections.
It can be life-threatening if not treated in hospital.
“Thankfully the issue was caught early and dealt with by medical professionals. Danniella has been released from hospital and is home recovering with the support of close family.
“We are grateful that Danniella hasn’t suffered from any major risks.
“Danniella appreciates everyone’s immediate support and we will be sure to issue updates on her ongoing recovery accordingly.”
Despite the setbacks, the mum-of-two looks better than ever and has been keeping fit by pole dancing, and even has plans to start spinning.
As well as focusing on her physical health, Danniella is also in regular contact with her therapist and is feeling good.
“I still speak to my therapist every few weeks, as I say I’ve got a good team of people around me,” she said.
“I’ve gone through stages in my life being so neurotic, ADHD and mental health issues, so if you’re going to be in this industry you need to be looked after properly.”
