Demi Jones has tragically confessed she ‘hates’ her body and debates whether to post bikini snaps to Instagram after putting on a stone in weight due to medication following a battle with thyroid cancer.
The former Love Island contestant, 23, went on to admit she put ‘a lot of strain’ on her physique during a ‘gym freak’ period in the lead up to her appearance on the ITV2 show, adding the move was ‘quite unhealthy’ but she felt pressure to ‘be skinny’.
Speaking to MailOnline at the No7 Pro Derm Scan launch party on Tuesday night, Demi, who was diagnosed with thyroid cancer last year before being given the all-clear in December, admitted she’s trying to ‘understand’ her changing frame.

She said: ‘It’s definitely been difficult. I’ve been learning to adapt to it now that my body has changed. I’m on hormonal tablets for my thyroid but it’s giving me weight imbalances.
‘I’m going up and down in my weight, mood swings, I’m just trying to come to a level and understand my body.’
With 1.2 million adoring followers being notified of her every move, the reality star revealed she sometimes struggles to live up the expectations of being in the spotlight.

She said: ‘Oh my god, there is so much pressure. Sometimes I don’t even want to post on Instagram cos I just hate my body.
‘Before Love Island, I lost so much weight to go on the show. There was a lot of expectation. I was a gym freak. I was at the gym every single day.
‘Now I go once a month if I’m lucky. I put a lot of strain on my body and I think it was quite unhealthy. I lost a lot of weight. I was scouted six weeks before Love Island so I had six weeks to lose a stone.

She continued: I’ve always been such a big Love Island fan so to see these girls who are so beautiful, and slim, I just thought that I’d hate myself and worried that I’d get lots of trolling.
‘But I think that’s what I had in my head that if everyone’s gonna see me in a bikini, I need to be skinny which is a shame really I guess but I’ve always been a little bit curvy but I love my curves and I love my body.
‘Hopefully with my Instagram, people will see that its not always skinny like supermodel vibes.’
