DRAGONS’ Den star Duncan Bannatyne has been forced to flee his mansion in Portugal as wildfires rip through the country.
The Scots entrepreneur, 73, and his wife, Nigora, 42, live full-time at their villa in Vale do Lobo in the Algarve.
But the couple were “evicted” and made to leave for their own safety as fires spread across the country.
The Clydebank-born star posted videos on Twitter showing huge flames engulfing the region as several fire engines tackled the blaze.
He said: “Terrible day in the Algarve today.”
In a later post, he added: “We were evicted from our homes here today but luckily most fires were contained by early evening.”
In the video he can be heard saying to his wife: “We can’t go home, because they’re blocking the road to our house.
“Maybe the fire started again.”
He also tells his wife there is nothing they can do at the moment.
He also posted a video shortly after of thick black smoke billowing in a garden with huge flames visible.

The gym franchise owner described the scenes as a “terrible day in the Algarve”.
Earlier in the day Bannatyne had retweeted a video of multiple helicopters picking up water from the sea to help fight the fires from ta local beach.
He complimented the authorities saying: “They are doing a fantastic job.”
The Scot bought a new property in the area earlier this year after selling his £5million where he spent much of the Coronavirus lockdown.
Nigora and Duncan married in 2017 and during the pandemic he told fans he had “repatriated” back to Portugal with his wife following the UK lockdown.
“I have repatriated myself & my family back to my home in Portugal after being locked down in London due to bad timing,” he wrote on Twitter.
Meanwhile, former Rangers gaffer Steven Gerrard’s luxury villa is also under threat as wildfires tear across Portugal and threaten the training camp which Gers stars just LEFT.
The Ibrox men returned to Glasgow this week after a training stint at Quinta do Lago but recently-promoted Premier League side Bournemouth are still undergoing training out there.
