Cheryl Burke has taken her divorce proceedings to a new level.
The 38-year-old professional dancer requested to take her split from estranged spouse Matthew Lawrence, 42, to trial.
Court documents filed on Thursday and obtained by Us Weekly stated that both parties had signed off on the request.

According to the paperwork, a trial would last about three days and cannot be scheduled as a ‘short cause matter’ – that is unless each party agrees to an estimated trial length of five hours (one day or less).
The case would sort out matters relating to division of assets, spousal support, attorney fees, and other various legal costs.
Burke filed for divorce earlier this year, just three years after the former couple wed.
Taking to social media to share the news, the Dancing with the Stars performer wrote, ‘I know I have always said I’m an open book with you guys, I do strive to be, and in writing this I’ve realized there really isn’t an easy way to announce that my marriage is ending.’

Earlier this month while chatting with Extra she gave some insight into how she’s faring.
‘As far as me and how this is going, it’s really, I’m not proud of it, it’s a s*** show,’ she admitted.
‘My emotions are constantly up and down, I’m sad every morning I wake up, I am sad every time I go to bed at night,’ she revealed.

‘It’s really nothing to hide here as far as like divorce sucks. I don’t recommend it, but at the end of the day, you know, it’s not like we didn’t try and I know we gave it a good shot,’ the entertainer shared.
Cheryl was promoting a new podcast in which her listeners will help her through the process of moving forward after her divorce.
She admitted that ‘the word dating makes me want to throw up a little bit right now, so I’m clearly not ready for that’ but added that she wants to ‘eventually, hopefully find love.’
