With Amelia sent upstairs, Harriet realised Dan had put Noah up to it – and she was furious with him.
“Poor kid, best now than in a few months or years,” Dan said to Harriet.
“Is that what you said to him or were you more direct?” replied Harriet.

Dan insisted it will be worth it if it all works out for the best for Amelia.
However, Harriet pointed out: “It might, if she doesn’t find out what you did.
“And if she does, you’ll lose her Dan. And it won’t take much for the truth to come out.”
