Things come to a head when a menacing man called Terry storms in[/caption]

After months of hardship, which include a stint in prison for Ben Tucker’s murder before it was revealed Meena Jutla was actually responsible, Liv Flaherty’s (played by Isobel Steele) life in the eponymous village is looking up.

In recent scenes of the Yorkshire-based soap, however, the youngster received a visit from her mother Sandra as actress Joanne Mitchell reprised her role, one year after her last appearance in the ITV Dales.

Upon her arrival, Sandra vowed she was ready to get help for her alcohol addiction and with Liv having experienced recovery, she felt she could be of help.

However, she’s left frustrated next week when her mother is forced to admit she owes four grand to a man named Terry (Neil Bell).

In doing so, Sandra pleads her case to Vinny and Liv, insisting Terry has actually been taking advantage of her.

While she suspects her mother may still be hiding something, Liv allows her to stay, making her block Terry’s number.

The broken trust is enough for Liv to feel uncertain and, before long, both her and her husband Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) worry if they can believe anything Sandra is saying.

But when a menacing Terry storms in, confronting Sandra and demanding his money, Liv and Vinny are terrified.

Terry puts on pressure to get his money and, much to Sandra’s relief, Liv offers to pay it all herself.

In later scenes at the Village Hall, Vinny shares his concerns that Liv’s plan to help Sandra will backfire.
