GOGGLEBOX’S Jenny Newby is back on her feet and has given a heartfelt ‘acceptance speech’ to co-star Lee Riley after missing the BAFTAs due to surgery.
Jenny, 66, was forced to skip the glitzy ceremony back in May after being taken into hospital for an operation.

The popular TV critic also disappeared from most of the last series of Gogglebox due to her mystery medical condition.
But she is now back on her feet and has finally received the BAFTA that the C4 show won for best Constructive Reality.
Standing outside in her garden, Jenny clutched the gold gong as she said: “Hiya, Lee. It’s only me. I’ve got my BAFTA.
“I know I couldn’t be there with you on the night. I swapped my evening gown for my theatre gown, and my black stocking for surgical stockings and my silver clutch bag for a catheter bag.

“But all in all, I never got to say thank you for the support you gave me through the pandemic when we were filming.
“The things that you did for me. Like, giving me that 9ft by 5ft bedroom, wall to wall walls, and enough room under the bed for my Pot Noodle and a packet of fags.
“And the one shelf you gave me in the kitchen. And I had to stand on a step to get to it.
“But I just want to say, all in all, Lee, thank you very much for being my bessie mate and I’m hoping to see you soon.”

Fans have gone wild for the video, with some even left in tears.
One tweeted a crying emoji, saying: “Aww emotional, that was beautiful, keep strong Jenny and lee. I wish I had a bessie mate like you. Love to you both.”
Another wrote: “Aww trooper, so glad you’re on the mend.”
A third added: “Awe Amazing Jenny & Lee. Well done on Bafta. Hope you feel better soon Jenny.”
Lee revealed Jenny’s health issue at the Television BAFTAs, as she was missing from the ceremony.
It came days after the duo had vanished from Gogglebox, with fans wondering what had happened to them.
Speaking backstage at the event, Lee said: “Jenny was supposed to be here, but she’s had to have a minor operation.
“It came this week and she couldn’t turn it down.

“She’s actually still in hospital so she’ll be watching from there from her hospital bed.”
The new series of Gogglebox will launch on September 9, 2022.
