HOLBY City fans were distraught tonight as the soap aired the last episode before next week’s huge finale.
Viewers saw Jac Naylor – who has been on the show since 2005 – facing a life-or-death operation.

Many were left in tears as a sobbing Dr Elliot Hope told her: “We had to stop. The tumour was bigger than we thought – it was impossible.”
The episode ended with Jac laid out on a bed at Holby General as the camera pulled away from the desperate situation.
One tweeted: “thanks holby I’m now a mess. glad jac’s still alive though. please let it be a happy ending next week atleast.”
Another wrote: “Trying to now process how we officially only have one episode left.”
One tweeted: “If they’re dragging it out like this and jac will survive in the end I can cope with it, if they’re making us go through this just to kill her off anyway I’ll sue for emotional damage xx.”
