A PETITION to sack This Morning’s iconic hosts is nearing its 75,000 signature goal, as fans come to Holly and Phil’s defence.

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield have been the subject of controversy after being accused of skipping the 12-hour queue to see the Queen Lying in State ahead of her funeral last Monday.

Now, a petition to have the pair axed from TV is just 500 signatures away from its goal of 75,000.

In response to public outcry, fans of the pair have come to their defence.

Responding to Holly’s recent Instagram post, one fan said: “Hope you’re doing OK. New week, new start…” as a second echoed: “Morning please don’t take no notice of a few members of the public they got nothing better to do ”
