IT is without doubt my favourite music event and next year’s Glastonbury is already shaping up to be a good one.

I can exclusively reveal that Arctic Monkeys have signed to headline the event at Worthy Farm.

Insiders have told me that the band have already started preparations for the epic gig, which will be the third time they have joined the line-up and a decade since they last appeared — all on the Pyramid Stage.

A source said: “Alex Turner and the band are coming back to Glastonbury and this time their set is going to be even bigger and better.

“The lads have signed on the dotted line and will return to the Pyramid Stage next June.

“It is really special for them to be doing a hat-trick on that stage and it is something they have wanted to do for a while.

How to get Arctic Monkeys 2023 UK tour tickets

“After the festival dates lined up with their upcoming tour they said they couldn’t not play there again.

“The band are in the process of putting together their team and are working on making their performance one of Glastonbury’s most memorable.”

The group, completed by guitarist Jamie Cook, bassist Nick O’Malley and drummer Matt Helders, announced their new tour on Friday last week and left a gaping Glastonbury shaped hole in their dates.

They last performed on the Friday night in 2013, after having made their headline debut in 2003.

I have watched the band live and they really are electric — but watching them at Glastonbury is going to be a whole new experience for me and I honestly can’t wait.

They will kick off their tour, which supports their seventh studio album, The Car, out on October 21, in Bristol on May 29 next year.

The group will then play dates in Manchester, Dublin, Glasgow and London before heading down to the farm

I’ll see you there, lads.

Kim in the spotlight

KIM KARDASHIAN looked like the cat that got the cream in this outfit – and it had her ex-husband Kanye West pining for her.

The reality star wore the all-over leopard print number with matching cape – which she helped design for Dolce & Gabbana and which had featured on their catwalk the day before – as she headed out for a meal in Milan, Italy, on Sunday.

Yesterday Kanye compared Kim to Queen Elizabeth.

He wrote on Instagram: “London I know how you feel. I lost my queen too.”

The musician was at the Burberry show as part of London Fashion Week but in contrast to his ex’s designer threads it looked like he had got his outfit from knock-off market stall.

He wore horrendous diamante flip-flops with black socks, leather coat and trousers plus a hoodie and tried to pass it off as high fashion.

That ought to be a reason to get uninvited.

His ex-girlfriend, model Irina Shayk, was walking in the show.

She didn’t comment on is look – but I imagine she was thinking she had a lucky escape.

Nina left moody, not broody

NINA NESBITT has said she is sick of being asked when she is going to get married and have kids.

The Scottish singer/ songwriter been bombarded with the questions since settling down with frontman Mike Duce, from rockers Lower Than Atlantis.

She told me: “I hit 25 and all the questions started rolling in, I get asked it a lot.

“But everyone does these things in their own time – so I don’t really feel the pressure.

“There’s definitely societal pressures put on you, especially as a woman in the music industry.

“But I think everyone’s journey is so different and everyone’s time frame is so different for these things, so I don’t let it get to me too much.”

Her quizzing was the inspiration for her song Pressure Makes Diamonds on recent album Älskar.

And the album might inspire something to accompany it which is even more unusual – a cookbook.

Nina said: “I got really into cooking in lockdown. I want it to be a little series for the album, like a meal for every song.

“I might do something like that, a cookbook would be cool. I like cooking British comfort food, pies and stuff.”

Maya’s £27k a week

MONEY can’t buy you happiness, but I’m sure Maya Jama’s millions have helped her following the end of her engagement.

The newly single presenter banked a whopping £1.4million from her TV and radio work last year, which is the equivalent of £27,000 a week.

Cash in her media company has rocketed thanks to a string of lucrative jobs, having hosted Simon Cowell’s game show Walk The Line and co-presenting fun footie show Crouchy’s Year-Late Euros: Live with ex pro Peter Crouch.

She signed up as the presenter of BBC Three’s Glow Up and further boosted her income thanks to sponsorship deals with sports clothing firm Adidas, JD Sports and Gap.

Accounts filed this week for her company MIJ & Co Entertainment Limited showed she paid a whopping £272,389 in corporation tax on her earnings.

But that left her with £1,433,626.

She split from basketball player Ben Simmons, who previously dated Kendall Jenner, this summer, after getting engaged at Christmas.

But she will be just as in-demand in the romance stakes as she is on the telly.

Ri sees a Rocky return

RIHANNA has just announced her return to the stage and she will be keeping her fingers crossed that it goes better than her boyfriend A$AP Rocky’s latest performance.

The Diamonds singer wore these thigh-high boots as she arrived to see him at Rolling Loud Festival in New York at the weekend, after announcing she will headline the Super Bowl half-time show next February for her first performance in five years.

Her partner’s show didn’t go to plan after he arrived almost an hour late, then had his microphone was turned off before the end of his set as he over-ran his time slot, which understandably annoyed the crowd.

The rapper wrote on Instagram: “I am so hurt right now. Last night was supposed to be a turning point in my live shows from the old to new.

“I will take full responsibility for the circumstances of what led to last night’s show being every- thing it was and everything it wasn’t.

“I also want to acknowledge that even tho I prepared the best show for my fans, detail for detail, over the course of MONTHS . . . I was unfortunately not able to bring my vision to fruition and I’m hurt about that and I want to apologise to all my fans and continued supporters, and thank ya’ll for showing up for me regardless.”

Graham supports Hol & Phil

GRAHAM NORTON has insisted Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield did nothing wrong by skipping the queue to see the Queen Lying-in-State – though he was wise enough not to do it himself.

The chat show and Virgin Radio host, who turned down a VIP ticket to walk past our late monarch in London’s Westminster Hall, said: “As far as I’m concerned, they did nothing wrong.

“There was a two-tier system, you could queue jump.

“I got offered a queue jump ticket by a friend of mine, he’s an MP and he said, ‘Do you want to come?’

“I didn’t say yes because I thought, ‘if anybody sees me, I’ll get it in the neck’.”

Graham added on the Headliners podcast: “I suppose what Phil and Holly got wrong was that they thought people wouldn’t care.

“That’s their crime. The actual queue jumping thing, they did nothing wrong.

“But it was foolish of them to not think people would be annoyed.”

TAKE THAT’s Mark Owen is in a four-way battle for No1 on the Official Albums Chart.

His first solo record in nine years, Land Of Dreams, is at No2 in the mid-week update, just behind hip-hop group D-Block Europe with Lap 5.

Aussie pop band 5 Seconds of Summer are in third place with their fifth studio album, 5SOS5.

London-based rock band Sports Team are set to go to No4 on Friday with their second album Gulp!, the follow-up to 2020 debut Deep Down Happy.

Madge’s look of the Irish

LUCKY Star singer Madonna already has a pot of gold, so it is no surprise she has ended up looking like a leprechaun.

She dressed like the Irish folklore fairy in this green outfit and dazzling black trilby along with a glowing ginger wig on Sunday.

The Queen of Pop had got all dressed up for her son David Banda’s 17th birthday in the US.

And as much as it must be pretty cool having a superstar parent, I doubt many lads would be too pleased if their mum turned up to their party dressed like this.

Mum’s the word for Maisie ADHD

GAME Of Thrones actress Maisie Williams has been diagnosed with ADHD – and is convinced her mum Hilary has it too.

The Brit, best known for playing Arya Stark in the fantasy TV series, said she found out she had attention deficit hyperactivity disorder last year after a psychiatrist urged her to get tested.

She had ignored the symptoms for years because they were characteristics her mother also has.

Symptoms can include difficulty concentrating, hyperactivity and impulsiveness

Maisie explained: “I was diagnosed a year and a half ago with ADHD and I take medication every day. A lot of the things I noticed about myself, I remember my mum being like, ‘I struggle with this, and I struggle with that too’.”
