HUGH Hefner’s ex Holly Madison opened up about her experience living in the Playboy mansion claiming it was like a “cult” because the women were “isolated from the outside world.”
The model dated the Playboy founder from between 2001 and 2008 while residing in the famed LA mansion.

Holly revealed what it was really like behind closed doors in the upcoming A&E docuseries Secrets of a Playboy, describing the living situation as “cult-like.”
The former Playboy Playmate explained her take on the atmosphere in a clip saying: “The reason I think the Mansion was very cult-like, looking back on it, is because we were all kind of gaslit and expected to think of Hef as, like, this really good guy.
“You started to feel like, ‘Oh, he’s not what they say in the media — he’s just a nice man,'” she added.
The Girls Next Door star also claimed that Hugh would often keep the women holed up in the home away from other people.
“Another thing that reminds me of a cult is how it was so easy to get isolated from the outside world there,” she said.
“You had a 9 o’clock curfew, you were encouraged to not have friends over. You weren’t really allowed to leave unless it was, like, a family holiday.”

To ensure that the girls left the property as little as possible, Holly claimed that Hugh paid them weekly so they didn’t have to go to work.
”He said it made him jealous, and he would appreciate it if I quit my job. So, instead, we were given $1,000 a week as an allowance.”
Hugh died in 2017 at the age of 91.
He was married to Crystal Hefner, 36, from 2012 until his death.
Holly has since been vocal about her time living in the 22-bedroom abode and having an intimate relationship with the legendary publisher.
‘TRAUMATIC’ FIRST DATE
Last month, the former E! star talked about her “traumatic” first night with Hugh who she said was “literally pushed on top” of her.
Speaking on the Power: Hugh Hefner podcast, she said: “I didn’t really know what went on with them sexually.
“I figured something, and I was prepared for that. I wasn’t prepared for what would eventually happen.
“I wasn’t necessarily expecting to have sex that night. I thought it would be more of a first date,” she added.
“[I thought it] would be more of a type of thing where I saw what happened, saw what was going on, [and] if I wasn’t comfortable with it, I wouldn’t have to do anything.”
However, things moved far quicker than Holly expected and the Vegas Diaries author was left “mortified and embarrassed” by the events of their first date.
She recalled: “He was literally pushed on top of me.
“And after it happened, I was just mortified and embarrassed and it had way more of an emotional impact on me than I thought it would…
“It wasn’t that the idea of possibly having sex with him repelled me so much,” Holly continued,
“It was more the group aspect that was really out of my comfort zone and just the feeling of like, ‘Wow. That happened. Everybody knows it happened.’
“All of a sudden it felt like everybody was going to know about me and I was horrified by it.”
But the 42-year-old beauty insisted she “had always admired Hef” and “really looked up to him” before she became one of his girlfriends, and didn’t feel she should just “run away” after their first date.
The TV star shared: “I felt like there’s no taking that back, so I might as well get what I came for.”
HAIR DRAMA
Weeks prior, Holly revealed another uncomfortable encounter with her ex-boyfriend claiming that he “screamed” at her for cutting her hair short.
The incident came to light in an earlier clip from the docuseries where she recalled the late star branding her as “old, hard and cheap” for making the hairstyle change.
She said in the clip: “I got to a point, not too far into my time there — I think it was, like, six months in — where I kind of broke under that pressure being made to feel I had to look like everyone else.
“My hair was really long naturally, and I was just like, ‘I’m gonna go chop my hair off so I can, at least, look a little different.’”
Holly then recalled Hugh’s reaction to her new hair, sharing: “I came back with short hair, and he flipped out on me.
“He was screaming at me and said it made me look old, hard and cheap.”
