The pandemic had put her plans on hold, but once her belongings were all finally packed up and ready to go, the reality of the situation hit her hard.

She said: “I had some really great experience of doing a couple of rooms here, and so I am going to take a lot of those things to Spain with me.”

Louisa was swapping Brighton for the port town of Estepona on the Costa Del Sol and hoped to offer art classes at her B&B as well as accommodation.

She said: “I’m hoping a lot of my life is going to be more active and more outdoors because I mean, here, I have a wonderful beach across from me.

“But I can count the number of times I have been over there without a coat!”

One of the things she packed was an an all-white piano which hoped to use to provide entertainment to her guests.

She explained: “I am hoping in the new house it is going to be used for entertainment, also if we do some singing or if we have a party or something like that we’ll have a pianist come along.”

But despite all her plans, when it came time to leave, she became emotional.

She said tearfully: “I suppose it’s a bit sad in a way, but it’s going to be a much better life, and I am convinced of that, no doubts in my mind.

“I shouldn’t be sad really, but, you know, I shouldn’t be tearful really, I suppose it’s a bit upsetting because I put so much work into the house, and it was going to be my forever home.

“But it isn’t my choice, I have no reason to be here anymore.”
