TODAY stars Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie are smiling through gritted teeth, fans and insiders have claimed.
Here are all the recent “signs” the co-hosts are actually in a nasty “feud.”

But recently, things have gotten ‘nasty’ between the history-making duo on-screen and off[/caption]
Hoda, 57, is a co-anchor and joined the network in 1998, the show in 2007.
Savannah, 50, is also a co-anchor and is their chief legal correspondent, first joining TODAY in 2011.
Hoda was promoted to anchor in 2018 after Matt Lauer’s firing for sexual misconduct – historic as it marked the first time the morning show was led by female co-hosts, per Washington Post.
But despite their sunny respective dispositions, fans have noticed awkward tension between them recently, and clues they aren’t friends at all off-camera.

TROUBLE IS COOKING
On July 15th’s episode, Savannah and Hoda teamed up for a cooking segment in the kitchen with cookbook author Elizabeth Heiskell.
While the female hosts attempted to help in the kitchen, both Al Roker and Craig Melvin sat with three Yankees players.
The athletes were on a previous segment and were invited to try some of the food on-camera.
But fans noticed the segment spiraled quickly and turned awkward.

As the chef was speaking and Savannah was mixing a salad, Hoda walked over to the table and asked: “Wait – are we done?”
Savannah replied: “Yea that’s it. Moving on. We’ll just move on, we don’t have time for all that,” as she dismissively waved her hand in front of Hoda and cut off the guest from speaking.
Viewers could hear Hoda nervously laughing in the background as a close-up of the camera showed Savannah continuing to mix the salad.
An awkward pause ensued before the guest started talking again.
“They can replace her anytime. She’s phony and not very nice,” one fan roasted about Savannah on Twitter.

LIZZO-H NO!
On July 18th’s episode, the ladies welcomed Lizzo as a musical guest.
She performed on the outdoor stage as part of the Citi Summer Concert Series – a fixture of morning shows in the summer.
At one point, Hoda excitedly grabbed Lizzo’s hand and guided her into the packed crowd to greet her fans.
While she had her moment with Lizzo, viewers noticed she didn’t wait for her co-host, Savannah, to join them.
Savannah followed them briskly down the stairs with their co-anchors, Craig Melvin and Dylan Dreyer, and Hoda seemed to hurry Lizzo along, leaving them behind.

‘CAN’T STAND EACH OTHER’
The awkward segments come as a source close to production on exclusively told The Sun that behind the scenes, they secretly “can’t stand each other.”
“Savannah is the boss. After Matt Lauer was ousted, Savannah grabbed power, and she really wanted Willy Geist in Hoda’s role, but his ratings were just not up to par for the network.
“Hoda out maneuvered Savannah and got the spot.”
Beyond that, the insider added that Savannah “thinks of herself as a real news person,” while Hoda is seen as “the lightweight that drank wine with Kathy Lee Gifford.”

“Savannah was the White House correspondent before getting the host job, which also explains her love for Jenna [Bush] since her father was president.”
The insider also added: “Jenna and Savannah are the best of friends, and they ice Hoda out.
While Jenna is Hoda’s co-host, the insider said she plays both sides between the women.
C-OUCH!
Both hosts also recently returned from some extended vacation time, and fans noticed they seemed “uncomfortable” when they reunited on July 12th.
Savannah had been off on vacation the last week, while Hoda was off the week before.
While they usually all break off into smaller groups to report from the anchor desk, the TV personalities came together to sit on two small couches for a pop culture news aspect of the show.
Fans said they all seemed very uneasy during this group segment.
“Y’all all look uncomfortably awkward on the couch,” one viewer said when it aired.
They added that only Hoda seemed to be able to look natural and calm.
Another agreed, saying that they “hate the couch” and think it should be gotten rid of.
Meanwhile, on July 19th’s show, Savannah was again nowhere to be found.
The network nor her co-stars announced her absence but she did post about a “pajama party” on Instagram and Stephanie Gosk filled in for the mom-of-two.

Another tweeted amid an awkward month filled with distance and absences, “Not to be impertinent, but notice that Hoda and Savannah rarely are together on Today lately.”
