The Jeopardy! host asked a question to the contestants from the 1960s singers category.

One of the contestants assumed it was Little Richard, who had a statue of himself “overlooking the water,” which was a “nod to posthumous number one hit,” but was incorrect.

The correct answer turned out to be the legendary Otis Redding.

Mayim explained the nod referred to his hit song, Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay.

THE COMMENTS

Jeopardy! fans found themselves “irritated” by how the ABC star pronounced the word “singer” and have slammed her manner of speaking.

One troll said: “Hey Mayim Bialik, the ‘g’ in singer isn’t a hard g.”

Another troll added: “I won’t get into other mispronounced words because there is one word which gets a beating every day by you, Mayim Bialik.”

A third troll mentioned: “Really, Mayim, you still don’t know how to pronounce singer? Here, let me help you. It is “sing” plus “er.” NOT “sing” plus “ger”.

A fourth person wrote: “If Mayim Bialik is such a huge brainiac, why can’t she pronounce ‘singer’ properly?”

A commentator chimed in: “I love Mayim Bialik hosting Jeopardy! What I don’t love is a hard g on the word singer. That is all.”

BAD AUDIO?

Fans have recently noticed something “strange” with the TV star’s voice on the show during the latest installments.

Viewers have noted that the Big Bang Theory alum seemed “echoey” and “mechanical” while speaking as if the sound was not the best quality.

One fan wrote: “I’ve noticed the audio seems real off lately. I’m not an audio engineer so I can’t really describe it, but it sounds like some levels have been off.”

Another fan added: “This is the third or fourth comment I’ve seen from other people, so I am confident there is something strange about the audio.”

A third fan offered a possible explanation and claimed: “Someone here pointed out they’re still without in-person audiences and the applause is all canned.”

PERMANENT HOST?

The fan outcry came as the Blossom actress and co-host Ken Jennings, 48, have been duking it out for the permanent hosting gig for months.

A new host for the quiz show is expected to be picked between them.
