Kym Marsh has told how she often worries about her husband Major Scott Ratcliff when he is away with work, saying they spend ‘great chunks’ of time apart.
The actress, 45, tied the knot with Scott, 33, who trained at Sandhurst Military Academy, in October after three years of dating.
Speaking to OK! magazine, Kym told how the nature of Scott’s career has brought challenges to the couple’s relationship.

She said: ‘We do spend great chunks of time apart and it’s not always easy, but it’s always felt easy in the sense that there never seems to be a problem we can’t overcome and we don’t really argue.
‘There are times when he goes to scary places and I sit there worrying, but you appreciate the times you have, and as long as he comes back safe that’s all that matters.’
Scott added that the couple don’t have the luxury of living together all the time but the effort it takes for them to be together is worth it.
Scott had to go away for work just two days after their wedding and was gone for two weeks, with Kym saying their honeymoon, where they stayed at the Sandals Granada Resort, was the first time she could celebrate being Mrs Radcliffe.

Kym said the highlight of her wedding day, which was at Sandhurst, was being walked down the aisle by her father David, who was previously diagnosed with incurable prostate cancer.
The former Coronation Street star said the family made provisions for her dad to walk her halfway, but he insisted on walking her the whole way.
She said: ‘It’s something I’ll cherish forever. I’m so glad he was well enough to do it.’
Kym had split from Matt Baker three months before sparking up a romance with Scott, after a two year romance.

She was first in a relationship with builder David Cunliffe before her rise to fame in 2001’s Popstars, and the couple had a son David, 26, and daughter Emilie, 25, during a five-year relationship.
After breaking onto the pop scene as a member of Hear’Say Kym married EastEnders star Jack Ryder, 40, in 2002, but they divorced in 2009 after she admitted having an affair with Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas, 46.
Kym went onto marry Jamie in 2012, and the couple have a eight-year-old daughter Polly. The couple’s first child Archie, passed away shortly after his premature birth in 2009.
Just over a year after tying the knot, Kym filed for divorce from Jamie in 2013 citing ‘unreasonable behaviour.
She is also a grandmother, with daughter Emilie welcoming baby son Teddy in May 2019.
