LOVE Island fans have taken to social media in their droves to complain after spotting something a little peculiar in the villa this year.

The critically-acclaimed reality TV series returned to ITV2 earlier this month and with it came a brand new villa in the sun-soaked Majorca.

And with summer almost here, the sizzling sun has beamed down on the island this week, with temperatures reaching as high as 32C.

However, despite the warm weather, those in the villa seem to be swapping their bikinis and shorts for an extra layer or two.

As it turns out, it gets pretty chilly in the villa when the sun goes down – and it hasn’t gone unnoticed with eagle-eyed viewers.

Taking to Twitter, one person penned: “I don’t think it’s very warm in the villa this year. The number of shots with them wearing hoodies is ridiculous.”

Echoing their comments, someone else said: “Is it cold in the villa this year? I always see the Islanders walking around with hoodies on.”

While a third added: “The Islanders literally walk around half naked all day then wear winter wear to bed. Make it make sense.”

Temperatures in Majorca drop to the low 20s at night time, meaning the Islanders may find their Boohoo shorts and crop top co-ords aren’t quite enough to keep out the chill.

And producers apparently encourage the islanders to wear minimal clothes during the day – despite the fact that it can often be quite cold.

According to 2018 Islander Wes Nelson, producers don’t like it when the Islanders wear too many clothes.

“Yeah, it’s no coincidence that we’re always topless or girls are in bikinis,” Wes told Roman Kemp on Capital Breakfast.

“Like, I used to try and go out in a hoodie and heavily clothed in the morning because sometimes it is a bit chilly – but yeah, you’d have to take that off.”

The hoodies in the villa may be a thing of the past very soon, with the contestants set to roast in 45C temperatures later this week.

Spain has issued a terrifying weather warning with a rare heatwave expected over the coming days.
