Martine McCutcheon has revealed it has taken her ‘such a long time to do what works for me’ as she opens up on her health and staying in shape.
In an interview with OK! magazine, the Love Actually star, 45, noted that she didn’t like to discuss her weight but told how she stays in shape by following the 80/20 rule diet, which she revealed ‘works for me’.
The chat also saw Martine open up on how she copes with her fibromyalgia, with the beauty detailing how having a cold shower helps with her symptoms.

Martine has recently embarked on a modeling career after having been signed by Elite model agency, which has represented supermodels including Naomi Campbell and Cindy Crawford.
And it’s not hard to see why Martine has been snapped up, with the stunner showcasing her svelte frame in a photoshoot in the magazine.
Discussing her frame, Martine told how it hasn’t always been straightforward in finding the right healthy eating lifestyle that works for her, with the star stating how important it is to just be the ‘best version’ of herself.

She said: ‘I think it takes a long time to work out what your own recipe is. It’s taken me such a long time to look through all the stuff that’s out there, and do just what works for me. So it’s not as simple as just going on a crazy diet. I just feel it’s really important to encourage women to just be the best version of themselves.’
Detailing her diet, she added: ‘The 80/20 rule is what works for me. For 80% of my week, I will have mainly just healthy proteins, vegetables and fruit, organic and veggie juices, and Flora ProActiv spread. And then I’ll have treats 20% of the time.’
She details how she indulges in pizza, chocolate or a G&T for special occasions, noting that she doesn’t feel guilty because she’s doing ‘good bits for my heart’ for most of the week.
The mum-of-one also shared that she keeps in shape by walking her dogs everyday after the school run, with the outings good for both ‘my head and my health’.
While her mental health is kept in check daily meditation and stretches to go alongside her 40 minute walks, adding that she’s not into crazy fads’.
Meanwhile, Martine touched on her battle with Fibromyalgia, a condition that causes widespread pain and extreme tiredness.
On taking cold showers to help, she explained: ‘It’s not every day, but I have one when I can. I’ll have a cold shower at the end [of a hot shower] and stay in there as long as I can. It’s really kind of makes me feel like I’ve been WD-40’d.’
She added that she’s also keen to try cryotheraphy as it’s supposed to be: amazing for inflammatory issues.
Martine, who made her children’s TV debut as a teenager, has spoken previously about how growing up in the public eye made her aware of her weight from a young age.
‘I was always conscious of staying as thin as I could be,’ she said in a 2016 interview. ‘It looked better on camera, meant I could fit into size 8 sample sizes and it was easier and more affordable with stylists.’
When asked how many hurtful comments affected her, she admitted ‘there were hundreds’ and said she body shamed ‘loads of times’.
She added: ‘People spoke about me like I was a piece of meat and I can’t believe that’s still going on in this day and age.’
