Just a month after his final run at the Beijing Winter Olympics, Shaun White hit the red carpet at the 94th Oscars.

The 35-year-old snowboarder and skateboarder was among the new presenters announced by The Academy last week, including skateboarder Tony Hawk, surfer Kelly Slater, DJ Khaled and more.

White hit the red carpet on Sunday afternoon, not with his girlfriend Nina Dobrev, but with his mother Cathy, while sharing a brief video on his Instagram story before arriving.

White stepped out with a classic black tuxedo with a white dress shirt, black bowtie, black suit coat and black pants.

He also donned a gold watch on his right wrist and a gold ring on his left hand as he hit the red carpet outside the Dolby Theater in the heart of Hollywood.

The athlete completed his look with shiny black shoes.

White was joined by his mother Cathy, who stepped out with a full-length strapless black dress.

She accessorized with pearl earrings while holding a black clutch on the red carpet.

Cathy joked on the red carpet about her son’s retirement from snowboarding, stating, ‘I was thinking about that because I’m not gonna support him anymore,’ before adding, ‘I’m really excited he’s retiring, I want him home.’

White also revealed on the red carpet that this is his first time at the Oscars, and said what he was presenting later tonight.

‘First time, so I’m really excited. I’m getting to present the James Bond 60th anniversary package with some other amazing athletes, Tony Hawk and Kelly Slater, so it’s gonna be great,’ White revealed.

He also took to his Instagram story on Sunday afternoon to share a video from his home before heading to the event in Hollywood.

‘All right, big day, Oscars. Heading off to the big show, and I’ve got this wonderful date,’ he began, before turning the camera on his mother Cathy.

Cathy waved for the camera before dropping her clutch, as Shaun retrieved it, joking, ‘Off to a good start.’

‘Wish us luck. It’s my first time attending the Oscars, so it’s gonna be great,’ White said while getting into his vehicle.
