STRICTLY Come Dancing star Motsi Mabuse has been surrounded by support from her fans after sharing worrying family news.
The TV judge took to Twitter to detail how she was extremely worried about the safety of her in-laws, who are currently living in Ukraine.
Motsi, 40, detailed how her husband and Ukrainian dancer Evgenij Voznyuk’s parents were still living in Ukraine.
The country hit the headlines this week after Russia launched an attack overnight – dubbed a “special military operation” – on the country.
Vladimir Putin’s full scale invasion of Ukraine is all part of his deluded plan to rebuild the Soviet Union amid his paranoid fears over Nato.
Taking to Twitter, the dancer shared her concern for her husband’s family and their welfare, as she lamented there was “nothing she could do”.
“Our parents have been told to go outside and to switch off water & gas! They have no possibility to get to the Polish border,” Motsi wrote.
“It’s heartbreaking hearing my mother-in-law crying this morning, afraid and there absolutely nothing we can do! Just sad honestly!”
Fans rushed to show their support for the star as they offered up words of encouragement to get her through the “frightening situation”.
“Is she in Ukraine? I’m sorry. It’s such an awful frightening situation,” one woman wrote, as a second chimed in: “Thinking of you. So so sad.”
“So sad. And it’s so awful for everyone there and all their families around the world,” a third follower responded.
A fifth concluded: “Thinking of you, your husband and your family.”
Later, Motsi went on to share her solidarity in standing with Ukraine as she tweeted: “Prayers for Ukraine and the World.”
This morning, Putin declared an attack in Ukraine, with a dawn raid after months of amassing his forces on the border.
In a tweet, Boris Johnson said: “I am appalled by the horrific events in Ukraine and I have spoken to President Zelenskyy to discuss next steps.
“President Putin has chosen a path of bloodshed and destruction by launching this unprovoked attack on Ukraine. The UK and our allies will respond decisively.”
Meanwhile, Motsi has signed a contract to return to Strictly Come Dancing next year after proving a hit with viewers.
It comes as bosses are struggling to decide on whether to keep former pro dancer Anton du Beke, 55, on the panel or welcome back Bruno Tonioli, 66.
He was forced to step down because of Covid travel restrictions between the UK and US.
Head judge Shirley Ballas, 61, and acid-tongued Aussie choreographer Craig Revel Horwood, 56, are also set to return.
