Tamzin Outhwaite has spoken out on her menopause symptoms, admitting she lost confidence in herself.
Appearing on Thursday’s Loose Women the ex EastEnders star, 51, explained how she found out she was perimenopausal during lockdown in 2020.
She admitted she had no idea how debilitating menopause symptoms can be after ‘all my mum told me was “you’ll feel a bit hot sometimes”.’

Speaking to the Loose Women, Tamzin said of her experience: ‘You feel like you’re not in your own body and it really knocked my confidence. I found out in lockdown that I was perimenopausal’.
‘All my mum told me was “you’ll feel a bit hot sometimes”. I went to my GP and I didn’t want it to get bad.’
Tamzin, who is mum to Florence, 13, and Marnie, nine, added that going through the menopause at the same time as her eldest reached her teenage years has been an added challenge.
‘When you’re menopausal and you have teenagers it becomes a house of hormones!’ she confessed.

Tamzin’s new YouTube series Dun Breedin’ follows a group of women going through menopause together.
She worked on the series with her boyfriend Tom Child, 31 – a documentary maker.
Tamzin recently expressed how grateful she is to her toyboy boyfriend for being a ‘dream stepdad’ to her children.
The actress is coupled-up with partner Tom but shares her daughters with her actor ex Tom Ellis, 43, who she was married to from 2006 to 2014.
Tamzin said in a social media post on Monday that her ‘kind’ boyfriend comforts her daughters when they are upset about missing their biological father and that he ‘loves them deeply’.

She wrote on Twitter: ‘Gratitude tweet. My youngest is ill. My schedule has been manic. My love has done school runs, vet visits, made dinner, packed lunches, cleaned, dog walks, taken the car to mechanics, & generally lightened my load to the max, all with kindness & a smile. #teamworkmakesthedreamwork

Tamzin and toyboy Tom met in 2017 when they were attending the same yoga class.
Documentary maker and personal trainer Tom and Tamzin began meeting up casually but they embarked on a whirlwind romance after jetting off to the Maldives.
In November, the couple celebrated four years together, with Tamzin writing on Instagram: ‘If it all ended tomorrow I would be thankful and grateful and I know you would too… yet what we have is a unique and beautiful LOVE.’
Tom and Tamzin split in 2014 after he admitted to cheating with the Lost actress Emilie de Ravin.
But soap star Tamzin said in a 2015 interview with Essentials Magazine that there was more to the split than just an act of infidelity. She said at the time: ‘I wouldn’t not be with my husband over a one-night stand is all I’ll say.’
