THE Bay fans all have the same complaint after spotting something very “off” about the ITV series.

Fans of the hit ITV murder mystery grumbled on Twitter after episode two, saying that the thriller was “too slow” and littered with “clichés”.

New to town, DS Jenn Townsend was immediately thrown into the deep end when a body is found in the bay on her first day in the job.

Her investigation draws her into the lives of aspiring young boxer Saif’s grieving but suspicious family who clearly have secrets.

However, some viewers suggested that the series had been lacklustre so far.

One wrote: “#TheBay is so contrived. I know it’s a drama but it’s so stupid. All the clichés in the book chucked in for good measure.”

Another posted: “Why does everyone in this talk like they are from Yorkshire not Lancashire. #TheBay”

“Really not enjoying this series so far. The casting is weird . Cliched characters. Something is off. #TheBay”

A fourth posted: “#TheBay Finding this new series so far a bit boring.”

“#TheBay I’m finding this so dull! I think It’s time to switch off,” someone else commented.

Hoevrr, other fans really enjoying the suspense, ith one riting: “The tists and turns are so good. I can’t even guess ho dunnit!! I’m usually guessing by no. #TheBay”

Another added: “Brilliant series, it’s so good! I can’t ait for next week. #TheBay”

Viewers saw Saif’s girlfriend Molly be questioned by the police.

DS Jenn Townsend’s partners stepdaughter Erin was also spotted on CCTV having an altercation at a nightclub and was brought in for questioning by the police.

The police headed to the boxing gym and found a phone along with blood splatter which suggesting that they had found the crime scene.

Meanwhile, Saif’s brother Adnan had lied about his whereabouts and came clean when his alibi didn’t check out – admitting that he was at the lockup.

After getting into a fight he was seen destroying his brothers memorial site.

People quickly pointed fingers at Saif’s brother on Twitter, writing: “We going with Jamal did it?”

It all seemed to add up too soon, as others spotted Jamal looked older than his apparent 16 years.

One posted: “By the look of the 16-year-old Jamal who looks more like 35, I reckon he did it!”

And another wrote: “Bad casting… how old is Jamal if in same class as that other lad”

“Has Jamal been held back at school? For like 40 years?”

“Jamal is the only boy at high school with a wife, mortgage and two kids he’s putting through uni!” another baffled fan wrote.

Others had different theories, with one claiming DS Townend’s handsome husband had something to do with the grisly death.

Seeing him in the final scene tonight, the person insisted on Twitter: “He’s her husband! He’s the killer!”

Marsha has replaced actress Morven Christie, who will not return to the ITV murder mystery series.

After two successful series on The Bay, Scottish actress Morven made the decision to leave the show, without giving a reason.

The show’s producers told ITV: “The show’s producers thank Morven for her brilliant contribution to The Bay and wish her every success for the future.

“While the DNA of the show remains the same, the change of lead offers up the exciting opportunity to place a new character at the centre of the drama and explore the world of Morecambe from a fresh perspective.”
