The Rolling Stones have announced they will perform at London‘s Hyde Park this summer as part of their 60th anniversary tour… on the same day that Beatles legend Paul McCartney is headlining Glastonbury.
The band will perform two concerts as part of the British Summer Time Festival on Saturday 25th June and Sunday 3rd July – 60 years on from their first ever show at the legendary Marquee Club in London.
The timing of the band’s performance is apt for many classic rock fans, as it comes on the same day that fellow music icon Paul McCartney is set to headline Glastonbury.

On Monday, the rock n’ roll legends announced a run of fourteen shows in ten countries across Europe this summer and reveal the title of the new tour – ‘SIXTY’ in celebration of six decades on the road together.
Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood will all return to the Great Oak Stage this summer, once again joined by Steve Jordan on the drums.
The rock legends will be heading out on the road to with a new show and live production starting in Madrid on June 1 before heading to Munich, Liverpool, Amsterdam, Bern, Milan, London, Brussels, Vienna, Lyon, Paris, Gelsenkirchen and Stockholm.

The Stones will treat fans to a set list packed full of classics at their Hyde Park gigs but will also will include surprises from half a century’s worth of their classic hits.
They will also bring an incredible production and state of the art stage design.
The Rolling Stones and Hyde Park have a rich history to say the least, with their iconic 1969 Stones In the Park show becoming one of the most famous concerts of all time.
The concert was a magical moment in history, though the true attendance number was never known, with between 250,000 and half a million people coming to see the band return to where they truly belong, back on the live stage.
They then returned just once in 2013 to open BST Hyde Park where they played two sold-out shows to 130,000 fans.

Jim King, CEO of European Festivals at AEG Presents, said: ‘Whenever Hyde Park is mentioned, it’s impossible not to think of The Rolling Stones.
‘Two nights on June 25th and July 3rd cap off an incredible line up for BST Hyde Park 2022 but nobody brings it like the Stones when they’re on home turf in London.’
Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday 18th March.
Last month Paul confirmed that he would taking to the stage as one of Glastonbury’s headline acts, taking to the stage on the second night, Saturday June 25.

According to the Sun, Paul will follow Noel Gallagher and Haim and is ‘determined to put on a hell of a show’.
‘Paul’s set will be an absolutely must-see. He is really excited for it and is determined to put on a hell of a show packed with all of the hits,’ a source said.
‘There was some discussion about whether he should go ahead with shows this year because of the situation with Covid, but he decided he really wants to perform.
‘Glastonbury is such an amazing event to headline and he knows it will be an incredible moment for him.’
Paul will join Billie Eilish at the festival, who is also making history, but as the youngest solo headliner.
