Sam Ryder is tipped to represent the UK at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, according to a new report.
The TikTok superstar, 31, has accumulated 12million followers on the social media platform and has delighted users with his covers of hits by Adele, Alicia Keys and Justin Bieber, to name a few.
Per The Mirror, Essex-born Sam is set to perform his new single Space Man during May’s competition, which BBC Radio 1 DJ and Eurovision commentator Scott Mills made his record of the week.

The singer-songwriter describes the track as ‘a little song about being an astronaut’ and it contains the lyrics: ‘I searched around the universe, been down some black holes, there’s nothing but space, man, and I want to go home’.
Last year’s Eurovision entry James Newman placed bottom of the leaderboard with zero points, but fans of the international competition seemed optimistic when rumours began to swirl of Sam’s involvement.

Sam even caught the attention of R&B icon Alicia Keys, who shared a clip of her reacting to his cover of her classic hit If I Ain’t Got You.
Alicia looked shocked as Sam belted out the song and says, “Yo, he killed this. This is hard for me to sing.”
According to The Mirror, the BBC are expected to announce Sam as the UK’s contestant later this week.
