FANS of Tipping Point were left furious over a “pathetic” final round – after a contestant refused the £10,000 trade off.
Thursday night’s episode saw Ben Shephard joined by three new hopefuls – John, Jean and Sophie – hoping to win some cash.
Starting off well, the group managed to correctly answer a number of the questions, but the machine was not making it easy.
Despite having plenty of counters to play, not many were falling from the machine in the initial rounds of the game show.
While Jean and Sophie were only able to clock up a fairly unimpressive £150 each, John was crowned the winner with £400.
After battling it out with Jean, John managed to cash in a total of £4,000 as he went into the final.
However, instead of trading his winnings for three more counters and a shot at the big £10k prize – John walked away with the money.
However, when he was given a chance to see whether he could have won – much to his shock, he pushed the final counter over the edge.
Fans were left furious and took to social media after the episode to slam the contestant’s performance as “pathetic”.
“He’s basically just thrown away six grand,” one fumed at the show.

“Absolutely pathetic taking the money over the trade there,” another chimed in, as a third added: “Why TF would he not trade?”
“Such an idiot…trading was a sure banker,” a fourth penned, as a fifth concluded: “Jeez..a slight breeze would have pushed that over.”
It comes days after viewers were distracted by a “stunner” of a contestant – and not because of her appearance.
ITV viewers gushed over “beautiful” star Liz, a geo-technical engineer and a dead ringer for actress Jodie Comer.
The similarities ensued when it was revealed Liz hailed from Liverpool – Killing Eve star Jodie’s home turf.
Yet, as Liz bagged the first £50 coin of the Tipping Point episode, fans were left scratching their heads.
They called out a quirk with the contestant which saw her wobble her left leg, perhaps with nerves, before she waited for each question.
Tipping Point airs weekdays at 4pm on ITV
