Despite production for the upcoming series 12 being well underway, fans are still waiting to catch the final episodes of series 11.

The first four episodes of the cop drama were spread out due to delays because of the coronavirus pandemic, but bosses are yet to confirm when the remaining episodes will air.

Brenda and her sidekick Kenny Doughty, who plays Aiden Healy, have kept fans updated with behind-the-scenes snaps.

Other cast members, Riley Jones, who plays Mark Edwards, also shared snaps from on set.

Although, in his latest post, director Khurrum paid a sweet tribute to the DCI Stanhope star.

The director shared a cute snap of the cast along with a caption confirming the filming for an episode has finished.

Khurrum along with the rest of the cast, were all smiles, sitting on the legendary Vera sofa, posing together as a unit.

The caption, referencing the end of an episode, read: “And that’s a wrap. What an incredible journey,”

“Thank you to my entire cast and crew. And of course, a huge thank you to the legendary Brenda Blethyn and Kenny Doughty

“I can’t wait to share the episode.”

The director said shooting an episode had been an incredible journey.

Brenda was quick to react to the tweet, commenting: “A pleasure to work with you, Khurrum.”

The DCI Stanhope star’s followers also shared their thoughts on the snap, with many questioning the actress on when the new series would air.

One follower said: “Look forward to watching the new series.”

Another wrote: “Vera is my favorite TV show… ever! More… more… more, please!”

“Congratulations on another series, can’t wait for release in Australia. Vera has amazing scripts and a wonderful selection of talented actors, absolutely enjoy every episode, so thank you to you all,” another follower commented.

It comes as Blethyn, cast and crew announced a short break from filming of the twelfth series of the show back in May, this year.

Since then, Vera fans have been left eagerly waiting for updates on a release date and any teasers.

The latest episode saw Vera unravel the mystery of a murdered family man, found beaten at the Collingwood Monument the day before he was due to testify in court.

The show has proven to be a hit, gaining viewers from all over the UK, the US and even Australia.

Although there are no spoilers on what to expect yet, much of the cast from series 11 are set to return.
