WELCOME to Plathville stars Kim and Barry Plath have split as the mom of nine has moved out of their family home.
Kim, 49, opened up about her marriage problems in a new episode of the TLC series.
The reality star shared in a confessional: “Barry and I have decided to live separately for a while.
“The easiest way to do that right now is whenever one of our rental properties is vacant, I pack a bag and I go and I stay there.”
She continued: “I never thought it would be like this. It’s just a time of a lot of change right now, and I’m not sure exactly what that’s going to look like.”
Barry, 54, made an attempt to salvage their marriage, according to Kim.
The TV said revealed: “Barry tried for a little bit, but at some point I felt like he’s not really trying.
“As soon as he thought maybe it was working, he stopped trying. And once I realized that, I feel like emotionally, I was just done. I just feel like there’s no way it’s going to work.”
She concluded: “It’s like he wants me to stay but I don’t know that he wants to really change. I don’t see any way that that emotional intimacy can really be reconnected.”
Previously, Barry admitted: “… Looking back on my relationship, I think I just missed lots of opportunities to show Kim I love her. Like taking time to go out on a date, that was a concept that I couldn’t put action to.

“But, for Kim, that was an issue. In my mind, I’m like I want to make this work, so I’m like, ‘Life is full of mistakes, and let’s see what we can do second chance-wise.'”
STRICT LIVING
Welcome to Plathville follows Barry and Kim with their nine children as viewers get to see the large family navigate their lives and explore various things that were once forbidden due to their upbringing.
Kim and Barry raised their kids with limited technology, no sugar, and on a fairly isolated farm under a strict fundamentalist Christian lifestyle and belief system.
One of the most vocal of their children has been daughter Moriah, 19, who has not only strayed away from her family, but has shared proof of her rebellion on social media.
‘MY LIFE!’
Previously, the teen showed off her tattoos and wrote: “… this is MY life and I will be the one living with the ‘good’ or ‘bad’ decisions I make… though I will say, I don’t see them as good or bad decisions but as learning curves!”
She added: “On the road to becoming who I’m meant to be. And I’m not just talking about tattoos but just life decisions in general. So I guess we’ll just have to see what the future brings.”
Aside from moving out of the family home with her brother Micah, 21, Moriah has also dyed her hair purple, showed off her abs in head-turning outfits, and even rocked a bikini.
“I had got to the point where I was just starving for freedom and didn’t follow the rules my parents had set,” Moriah previously said in an episode.
“My parents were shielding me or protecting me, whatever, from the outside world.”
Moriah also found herself in a relationship with Max Kallschmidt, but recently confirmed they have parted ways.
