JOHNNY Knoxville is quitting death defying stunts as Jackass Forever hits cinemas this week.

The 50-year-old suffered brain damage in the fourth film during an eye-watering stunt with a bull, and has decided to tame his wild antics from now on.

An ambulance was called after Johnny was knocked out cold for four minutes. He says: “I got a broken wrist, broken rib, concussion and brain haemorrhage.”

Fans will miss some of their old favourites when Jackass Forever opens in cinemas on Friday.

New cast members include British recruit Eric Manaka and the first female crew member, comedian Rachel Wolfson.

There will also be guest appearances from the likes of rapper Machine Gun Kelly, who gets slapped.

Old favourites such as Steve-O, Chris Pontius and Wee Man continue to test all reasonable boundaries.

Like Johnny, they all started out on the MTV series, which first aired in 2000. Here we look at what the original cast have been up to in the years since.

All those scary antics have turned Johnny’s hair grey

The most notorious member of the Jackass crew suffered a concussion in a boxing bout, clung on to a rocket and was shot in the stomach, to name but a few mishaps.

An injury to his bladder from one stunt required him to stick a tube up his private parts for over three years.

Johnny branched out into Hollywood movies, including the big screen version of The Dukes of Hazzard in 2005, during which co-star Jessica Simpson claimed they were lovers.

But the instigator-in-chief has decided to retire from being a Jackass forever because his wife and kids don’t want him risking his life any more.

Johnny, 50, says: “My family doesn’t like me doing this type of thing. I’ve done enough. I don’t have anything to prove. I have kids to raise. That’s the most important thing.”

The actor has been married to Naomi since 2010 and has three children from his two marriages.

Steve-O

London born Stephen Glover has long been Johnny’s “wingman” – but his wild ways have landed him in trouble.

In 2002 he was charged with obscenity for stapling an intimate body part to his leg.

He’s also battled addiction, confessing: “I just want to say the first two Jackass movies, I was in the grips of drugs and alcohol and I was really compromised.”

He quit Love Island in 2006 after getting into rows over the lack of beer and chocolate.

Steve has been sober since going into rehab 13 years ago – but admits he became a sex addict.

The 47-year-old actor saw a sex therapist because “I just couldn’t keep it in my pants.”

One of his previous girlfriends includes Loose Women panellist Stacey Solomon, who he dated for six months in 2015 after meeting her on Channel 4 show The Jump.

In between the Jackass movies he has appeared on a series of reality TV shows including the US version of Strictly Come Dancing.

Bam was one of the founding members of Jackass – taking his life in his hands on his skateboard.

Behind the scenes footage revealed he was boozing it up while making the series, and a spin-off called Viva La Bam.

His wedding to US TV personality Missy Rothstein was recorded for a fly-on-the-wall MTV series called Bam’s Unholy Union in 2007, but the marriage only lasted five years.

Last summer Jackass director Jeff Tremaine was granted a three year restraining order against Bam whom he claimed threatened his children.

Tremaine alleged Bam wrote in one message: “I’m gonna kill you in one motherf*****g punch”.

Bam has launched a legal claim against Tremaine and co after being cut from the new movie for supposedly continuing “to get loaded” in breach of his contract.

The 42-year-old American’s lawsuit included allegations, all denied, that the film company had hired a doctor “who forced him to take a ‘cocktail of pills’.”

Before Jackass existed, Ryan was performing hands-over-your-eyes stunts with skateboarder Bam Margera in a crew called Camp Kill Yourself.

The American went above and beyond the call of duty in his three Jackass movies.

He suffered a near fatal blood clot after injuring his shoulder while being pulled along by a horse.

A life of excess caught up with Ryan when he got behind the wheel of his Porsche after drinking in a bar with Jackass production assistant Zachary Hartwell.

He lost control of the sportscar while travelling at 130mph and crashed into a tree in 2011.

Both Ryan, 34, and Zachary, 29, were tragically killed in the fire that engulfed the vehicle.

Chris Pontius

Chris was the R-Rated show’s biggest exhibitionist – often getting his manhood out for shocking stunts.

His private parts were bitten by a snake and in Jackass 3D they were tied to a remote controlled helicopter.

The 47-year-old Californian was in the MTV series from the beginning.

Jackass Forever is the first of the series to be made since the #metoo era began, and he was warned against flashing while the cameras were not rolling in case it was considered “sexual harassment”.

He says: “They’re like, ‘Unless you’re shooting, you can’t have your penises out’.”

Jason, who has a form of dwarfism called achondroplasia, joined the MTV series thanks to his daredevil antics on a skateboard in California.

In the series he famously skated down Venice Beach in Los Angeles dressed as an Oompa Loompa.

In 2020 there were fake reports that Jason had died, but he is very much alive and features in the new film.

Jason, 48, has no intention of hanging up his skateboard and says “we’ll bring it” if a fifth Jackass movie is made.

Three years ago he sold all his possessions and decided to live in a Mercedes van instead.

Last month WWE legend Brock Lesnar was filmed slamming Jason through a table ahead of Royal Rumble.
